HR Leader Catherine Candland Joins nextSource

New York, NY,  January 15, 2014 — nextSource, a workforce solutions company, announced today that Catherine Candland, who has founded, led, grown, and sold several companies in the Human Capital Sector, joined the company as its Chief Executive Officer.  Candland brings to nextSource years of proven experience as a leader of companies in the talent acquisition, staffing, and workforce management  industry.

Candland comes to nextSource from ZeroChaos, a Snow Phipps PE-owned company, where she led integration activities subsequent to the purchase of WorkforceLogic, a Silicon Valley’s MSP and VMS (Vendor Management System) workforce management company.  The combined companies created the world’s largest vendor-neutral managed solutions company with revenues of $3 billion. Previously, she was CEO and President of WorkforceLogic and  Nelson Family of Companies.  While there, Candland conceived, organized, and advanced the company’s SaaS and MSP (Managed Service Provider) strategy, driving enterprise value by over 200% in two years, and led the successful sale of WorkforceLogic.

Candland was the Founder and CEO of Advantage Human Resourcing an innovative staffing company with 22 offices and $110 million in sales.  Under her direction, the firm became an industry leader in the area of assessments, benefits, retention, and recruitment.  In 2004, the company was acquired by Crystal Company Ltd.  Post-acquisition, Candland managed dynamic changes in subsidiary ownership from a privately held founder-run Japanese company to a Japanese private equity firm to a publicly traded company while continuously growing revenue to $300 million.

Candland has and held numerous board positions including Executive Committee, Connecticut Business Council, the Connecticut Business and Industry Association,  Business Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Board of New York and Connecticut Governor’s Council on Economic Competitiveness and Technology (by governor invite).  She was the recipient of “Walter Wheeler Leadership Award” for recognition of outstanding leadership and service by the CT Business Community and the Ernst & Young, Entrepreneur of the Year Award.  Candland received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Utah and has attended Leadership, Management, and Negotiation programs  at Harvard University, Dartmouth College, and Columbia University.
